The Balochistan High Court on Monday ordered the suspension of Deputy Commissioner Kech Hussain Jan, Assistant Commissioner Aqeel Kareem and Sub-Inspector Rasool Jan after they failed to provide justice to the victims of the Hoshap incident and belittled them. The high court lawyer Imran Baloch informed the protestors sitting in front of the governor’s house in Quetta about the decision of the court.

Imran Baloch said that the high court had suspended the deputy commissioner, assistant commissioner and sub-inspector of Kech and said that the children were “martyred.” He said that the court had ordered the provincial authorities to provide for the treatment of the wounded child. He said that the court had directed the authorities to provide security to the families of the victims during their stay in Quetta and in their hometown.

The high court lawyer said that a special body consisting of three officers of the crime branch has been formed to thoroughly investigate the incident. He said that the court had also approved the request of Mehrab Khan, the grandfather of the slain children, to register a first information report against the Frontier Corps. The high court had said that Mehrab Khan can nominate anyone for the crime, and the newly formed body will investigate the charges and bring the culprits to justice.

Balochistan Home Minister Zia Langove also confirmed the formation of the special body, adding that the body will be under his chairmanship. “The committee would probe the incident with complete impartiality and independently and those found guilty would be brought to justice,” Langove said. He offered his sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and said that the government has taken serious notice of the incident.

He said that the government officials have negotiated with the family members and accepted all their demands. “However, we will not allow anyone to use the affected family for their personal and political interests”, he warned.
