The family members of the slain children are reportedly moving their dead bodies to the provincial capital Quetta to continue their protest. They carried out a sit-in protest against the Pakistani security forces at the Shaheed Fida Chowk in Turbat but then decided to move the protest to Quetta when the authorities turned a deaf ear to their pleas. The family members of the slain children said that they will continue their protest in front of the Chief Minister and the Governor houses and demand justice.

According to the details, the district administration stopped the protestors midway in one last attempt towards a settlement, but to no avail. The negotiations failed and the family members continued their journey towards Quetta.

In a media statement, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee said that it will help the families of the slain children during their stay in Quetta. The spokesperson for the group said that the security forces are setting up examples of cruelty and barbarity in Balochistan. He said that the rising instability and insecurity is leaving pronounced scars on the peoples’ psyche.

The spokesperson said that this is the third such incident in district Kech alone – before this, the security forces killed Taj Bibi, an elderly woman, and Ramiz Baloch, a ten-year-old child. The families of the victims protested in Turbat for three days straight, but their pleas went unheard. Instead of providing justice to the victims, the authorities were busy cleaning up all the evidence inculpating the security forces, he said.

The BYC vowed to provide support to the protestors in Quetta and appealed to the general public to participate in the protests and play their due part in ending these crimes.
