NAB on Monday filed a reference against the GIEDA officials following an investigation into the illegal allotment of 581 plots.
According to reports, The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday filed a reference following an investigation into the illegal allotment of 581 plots allegedly by some senior officials of the Gwadar Industrial Estate and Development Authority (GIEDA), which caused a huge loss to the national exchequer.
The reference is filed against the Former Managing Director GIEDA Ahsan Mehboob, General Manager Waqas Ahmed, GM Industries Shahid and Nadeem Khosa and Consultant Muhammad Aslam Shah.
The accused violated the rules and regulations and caused irreparable damage to the exchequer through illegal allotment of commercial and industrial plots to their friends, relatives, and unrelated persons.
The investigation revealed that lands in Gwadar Industrial Estate were allotted to people who had nothing to do with industry and trade. NAB filed the reference in the Accountability Court of Quetta, in the light of strong evidence against the suspects.
It maybe recalled that the NAB Balochistan has already filed a case of massive corruption in the Gwadar Industrial State and Development Authority in the accountability court against the same officials.
As per reports , the illegal allotment of the government commercial lands caused massive loss to the national exchequer as well as employment opportunities to the locals of Gwadar.
