A fresh military operation has been reportedly launched in Gorkop area of district kech. There are reports of houses being burnt and detention of people.

According to details, the ongoing operation in Gorkop has been extended – houses were set on fire during the operation, while a local shepherd namely Juma son of Ibrahim was arrested from a mountainous area, allegedly by military. 

During the ongoing military operation in different areas of Gorkop area of ​​Kech, the houses of several people including the house of a man named Saleh Mohammad were set on fire in Salach. 

Military personnel have installed several checkposts at Krochy, Buxar Ziarat and in the mountains from Reso to Gwadar. 

Military officials have not yet provided any information regarding the operation, while no details have been received so far regarding casualties due to the siege. 

It’s pertinent to mention that Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove had announced that large-scale operation against “terrorists” has been started in Balochistan. 

Whereas, Baloch activists and politicians have been claiming that during these military operations, forces mostly target civilians and force them to settle in the vicinity of military camps and outposts in the low-lying areas. 

Such operations in Balochistan are not uncommon. During last two decades, forces have carried out several military operations in Balochistan. The Baloch activists and political parties allege that civilians suffer huge losses during these indiscriminate operations.
