A man goes missing after being arrested allegedly by the security forces in Panjgur district of Balochistan on Monday

According to the reports, Pakistani forces have allegedly arrested and forcibly disappeared a man namely Ilyas s/o Mullah Faiz Mohammad, a resident of Gichk Sorak, while he was travelling from Panjgur to karachi.

on the condition of anonymity the eye witnesses said that the forces abducted Ilyas from a checkpoint in Washbod area of Panjgur after checking his identity card.

It is pertinent to mention that aforementioned person was also arrested three years ago from Malir area of Karachi and was later released.

Enforced disappearances that started in the early 2000s have never slowed down in Balochistan, in fact, the dramatic surge has been observed in the number of people going missing with each coming year.

International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International also accuse Pakistani security forces as the perpetrators of ‘illegal abductions in Balochistan’.
