Another leader from Sindh went missing, allegedly being arrested and disappeared by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies from Karachi on Monday night.

As per the reports, Sarang Joyo, a writer, social activist, Sindhi language researcher and former research associate at SZABIST academy was allegedly abducted by Pakistani forces on Monday night from his residence in Karachi city.

According to the statement issued by the Voice of Missing Persons of Sindh (VMPS); Pakistani forces have intensified atrocities in Sindh. Sarang Joyo, a leader who raised his voice for the release of hundreds missing persons went missing after being arrested from his home last night.

“Sarang Joyo was a strong voice of the Sindhi Missing Persons and the political activist for Sindh. He was continuing his peaceful struggle for all political and social issues of Sindh from the platform of Sindh Sujagi Forum,” statement further read.

Many Sindhi and Baloch nationalist and social activists have condemned the enforced disappearance of Sarang Joyo. Mr Joyo is a known activist and son of a renowned Sindhi writer, Taj Joyo.

“We believe that by arresting and forcibly disappearing peaceful political activists like Sarang Joy, Pakistani agencies are doing their utmost to stifle the peaceful political voice of Sindh. On this occasion, we appeal to all human rights organizations around the world, including the United Nations, Amnesty International and the Asian Human Rights Commission, that Pakistan is committing genocide against our people. Let all international organizations stand with us against oppression and violence and put our global, political and diplomatic pressure on the Pakistani state for the release of all the missing activists of Sindh, including Sarang Joyo,” the VMPS said.

Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh has announced a nationwide protest movement for the recovery of all the missing persons in Sindh, including Sarang Joyo. It has appealed to all political and social parties and civil societies in Sindh to join the movement.

According to the latest news, 3 other organisations from Sindh have staged a joint hunger strike protest in Karachi, for the safe release of Sarang Joyo.
