Baloch Human Rights Organization has received nineteen cases of enforced disappearances of civilians by security forces in Balochistan in the first two weeks of May 2019. During this period, twenty-five people were killed in different incidents across Balochistan. Most of them were killed by state-sponsored death squads, operating in Balochistan.

On May 1, forces forcibly disappeared four people when they were returning home after Dhuhr prayer in Washbood, district Panjgur. The abductees were identified as Abid Master Ali, Altaf Ghulab, Farhan Ustad Sattar and Jahangeer s/o Nazeer.

On May 2, forces whisked away a resident of Kulaho area of Tump, district Kech namely Sameer Ameer from a Cricket ground.

On May 3, Maqbol Yar Mohd was forcibly disappeared by intelligence officials during a raid on his home in Hub Chowki. Due to consecutive military operations, his family migrated from Mashkay. IDPs of Balochistan were already living in vulnerable conditions & most often become victims of state policies. Last month, nine people of the same family were abducted by forces from Karachi and Hub Chowki and since then their whereabouts are unknown.

On May 5, 2 students were whisked away by the security forces. Both are residents of Gomazi, district Kech. Wajo Assa, 17, was abducted from Gomazi river and Talal Dost Muhammad, 16, forcefully taken away from a local bus when he was travelling back home from Karachi to Gomazi in Kech district.

Separately, on the same day, another civilian got abducted from Koh-e- Murad, district Kech. The victim was identified as Dil Pul Mazar, resident of Sari Kallag area of Gwarkop, district Kech.

On May 7, a resident of Balochabad Mand, district Kech namely Salman Khudadad was whisked away by forces and intelligence officials from a shop in Mand.

On May 12, security forces sieged Niyabad, Gwadar and forcibly disappeared Murad Samad, Abid Khalid, Waju Wahid Jogi and Saeed Abdul Hassan who were residents of Gawak, Mand, district Kech.

Separately, on the same day, Noor Khan Kahoor, resident of Shapuk, district Kech got abducted during a raid in Essa Nagari, Quetta. He has completed his Master’s degree and was in search of a job in Quetta.

On May 14, two people were abducted during a raid in Jiwani area of district Gwadar. During the raid, forces harassed and beaten up women and children and whisked away Shah Bakhsh Naguman and one another who has not been identified yet.

On May 15, 2 other students namely Ashraf Naik Sal and Ghulab, residents of Tash, Balgathar, district Kech were forcibly disappeared from Mashallah Plaza, Barori Road, Quetta during a raid by forces.

On May 14, Rahmdil Peer Bakhsh, resident of Hoshab, district Kech was abducted by intelligence officials from Gulshan-e- Iqbal, Karachi. He was a quality assurance officer in Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari Institute of Technology.

On May 16, Intelligence forcibly disappeared Nasir Mohammad Azeem from Karachi. He was an M.Phil Zoology student at Karachi University.

Extra-Judicial Executions.Three members of Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), a militant organization struggling for the independence of Balochistan from Pakistan, killed during a battle with state-sponsored death squad on May 1. They were identified as Naeem Abdullah of Menaz Buleda, district Kech, Rahmat Ganguzar of Gardank Buleda, district Kech and Murad Niaz of Kalar Mashkay, district Awaran.

On May 2, a total of 5 members of BLF killed by forces during a skirmish with state-sponsored death squad. They were identified as Javed, resident of Mashaky, Muhammad Akbar resident of

Balgathar, Noorullah, resident of Awaran, Abdul Majeed and Imdad residents of Gresha Nal, district Khuzdar.

On May 3, a decomposed body of a woman was found in Shahzaman Road, Quetta. The deceased was sent to the hospital for further investigations.

On May 5, unknown militants shot Haroon Mero, resident Sorgar Jahoo in Awaran district.

Separately, on the same day, unknown militants shot dead Ayaz in Killi Faiz Mohammad, district Kohlu and left four others injured including women and children.

Nizam-ud-Deen, resident of Saryab road, Quetta was killed on May 6, when unknown persons shot him.

On the same day, Dildaar Dilmurad dead body was found in Nondara area of district Awaran. He was abducted by unknown gunmen earlier.

On May 8, an unknown gunman opened fire on Rahim Bakhsh in Barkhan. He was killed in the attack while another one was injured.

On May 12, a traffic police Muhammad Haneef who was shot dead by unknown gunmen. He was a resident of Mastung.

On May 13, a deadly bomb blast killed 5 policemen in Mini Market of Quetta. Tehreek Taliban Pakistan claimed the responsibility of the attack.

The law and order situation of Balochistan has never been satisfactory but since the involvement of security institutions in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial executions of civilians have recorded, Balochistan has turned into a war zone where crimes seem to be unending.
