Two persons have gone missing from Awaran district of Balochistan on Sunday.

According to details received by The Balochistan Post, Pakistani forces launched raids in Pirandar area of Awaran district on Sunday.

As per the locals, forces arrested two men during the raids and moved them to undisclosed locations.

Abductees have been identified as, Daad s/o Bago and Gul Mohammed s/o Peer Mohammed.

It’s pertinent to mention that the both abductees were released at least two weeks ago from detention.

However, fewer Missing Persons were released, hundreds are still missing and many more are being abducted every new day across Balochistan.

‘Missing persons’ is the burning issue not only in Balochistan but also Khaiber Pakhtunkhua (KPK) and Sindh provinces of Pakistan.

Lately peaceful protests for the safe release of missing persons have gained momentum in the country but the counter protest policies of the state has also been criticized by local politicians including neighboring country, Afghanistan.

Afghanistan’s president Ashraf Ghani on Thursday in a statement said that Afghan government had serious concerns about the violence perpetrated against peaceful protestors and civil activists in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.

Enforced disappearances that started in the early 2000s have never slowed down in Balochistan, in fact, the dramatic surge has been observed in the number of people going missing with each coming year.

International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International also accuse Pakistani security forces as the perpetrators of ‘illegal abductions in Balochistan’.
