Large number of people turned up to participate in the protest organised by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons

According to local TBP correspondent, a large number of people from different walks of life participated in the protest of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons in Quetta on Thursday. The protest was called to demand the safe recovery of ‘thousands of missing persons’.

The protestors had announced to march to the Chief Minister house but they were barred by local authorities to do so.

Voice for Baloch Missing persons condemned the provincial government and said that the government has kept a criminal silence on the issue of Baloch missing persons.

The protest continued for at least four hours in front of Quetta press club, where the sister of a missing person Mehr Gul Marri fainted due to grief.

Various leaders and activists, including Chairman of VBMP Nasrullah Baloch, Vice Chairman Mama Qadeer Baloch, family members of missing persons Shabeer Baloch, Ijaz Baloch, Aamir Baloch, Mehr Gul Marri, Inayatullah, Haji Rehmat Ullah, Ali Asghar, Saddam Baloch, Dost Mohammad Baloch and others addressed the participants of the protest.

Member of provincial assembly Shakeela Dehwar Baloch, Agha Dilsoz, Syed Bayazid Shah, BSO leader Muneer Jalib, Jaleela Advocate and other rights activists also spoke to the protestors.

The speakers said that the criminal silence of authorities on the issue of missing persons’ case is condemnable, shameful and beyond comprehension.

They demanded that the missing persons should be produced before the courts if they have committed any crimes.

VBMP announced that it will organise another rally on Monday from Balochistan University if the government fails to play role in the recovery of missing persons.
