As many as thirteen persons have been abducted from the district in two days as Pakistani security forces raid several localities in Gwadar
According to the details received by the Balochistan Post, in a late night raid in Jewni tehsil of Gwadar district, forces, according to local media, picked as many as 12 persons from ‘Robar o Paso’, a locality in Jewni.
Forces carried out the raid after cordoning off the area and carried out a door-to-door search operation. 12 youngsters were arrested and taken away by the security forces.
Identification of the missing could not be ascertained immediately.
Forces had conducted a raid in ‘New Town’ of Gwadar city the previous night and picked up a man whose identification still remains unknown.
The series of raids started in the wake of last week’s incident when 5 labourers were killed and another three were injured by an armed Baloch group in Gwadar district.
It is pertinent to mention, authorities have also imposed a ban on pillion riding in the district for a month.
However, Pakistani forces are criticized by international campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International for using abductions as a tool to silence the dissent.
