At least two grenades were hurled at residence buildings of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) engineers.

According to reports, unidentified armed persons hurled grenades at the buildings of National Highway Authority in Kharan city, where engineers working on CPEC reside.

The responsibility for the attack was claimed by Baloch Liberation Army. The spokesman for the organisation, Jeehand Baloch, called media outlets and claimed fighters from BLA have carried out the attack.

Engineers and security forces personnel operating on the CPEC project have continuously been targeted in Balochistan. Only a few days ago, a Pakistani military base came under heavy attack in Lijje are of Kharan.
