A blast has rocked Kharan city only a day before Pakistani Prime Minister’s visit.

According to details received by The Balochistan Post, a hand grenade was hurled at Elections Commission Office in Khran city by unknown assailants riding on a motorbike.

Window panes of various buildings were shattered due to the intensity of the blast.

The attack was carried out at an instance when the security has been heightened due to Pakistani Prime Minister’s visit. PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is visiting the city tomorrow to inaugurate various projects.

Pakistani military helicopters took to the skies of Kharan city soon after the blast.

Pakistani PM is visiting the city on invitation of federal minister General Qadir Baloch who hails from Kharan.

BLA behind the attack:

Spokesman of renowned armed organisation Baloch Liberation Army has called media outlets and has confirmed that fighters from BLA carried out the attack in Kharan.

In the statement released to media, Jeehand Baloch, the spokesman of BLA, has said that BLA fighters carried out the attack today and BLA will continue to target institutions affiliated with Pakistani state.
