Reports of three alleged enforced disappearances have emerged from Khuzdar and Gwadar districts, while a man from Dera Bugti has reportedly died following his release from detention.

According to family members, two traders from the Naal area of Khuzdar district were taken into custody by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel on the morning of 8 July and subsequently transferred to undisclosed locations.

The individuals have been identified as Abdul Wahid, 37, son of Nisar Mohammad, and Shaukat, son of Hussain. Relatives said both men were detained separately at around 8:30am and that no information regarding their whereabouts has been provided since.

In a separate incident, the family of Anas Deedag, 24, son of Ishaq and a resident of Jiwani in Gwadar district, alleged that he was detained during a late-night raid on 4 July. According to relatives, personnel believed to be from Military Intelligence (MI) and the Pakistan Army took him into custody at around 1 am and moved him to an undisclosed location. They say no information has been provided regarding his whereabouts since then.

Meanwhile, the family of Riaz Bugti, a resident of Dera Bugti, has claimed that he died on Wednesday at a private hospital in Karachi after being released from detention.

Riaz Bugti, who died after being released from detention

According to his relatives, Riaz, son of Sajan Bugti, was allegedly detained during a raid on his home on 12 June by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel led by SHO Umar Khoso. The family alleges that he was subjected to severe torture while in custody and that demands for money were made during his detention.

Local residents have also alleged that CTD personnel in Dera Bugti have carried out raids against political opponents of Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, with some individuals allegedly being detained and later released after payments were made.

Residents further claimed that several individuals remain in CTD custody in the district and expressed concern about their safety.

Pakistani authorities have not publicly commented on the allegations regarding the reported disappearances or the circumstances surrounding Riaz Bugti’s death.
