The body of a young man who had allegedly been forcibly disappeared has been recovered from the Balicha area of Tump in Balochistan’s Kech district, while bodies were also found in Dasht-e-Goran, Kharan and Wadh.

According to sources, the man was identified as Usman, son of Yar Muhammad, a resident of Kalag Tagran in Tump.

Family members said Usman had been detained and forcibly disappeared by a state-backed armed group locally referred to as a “death squad” more than 15 days ago.

According to reports, following his disappearance, the family was pressured to hold a press conference and publicly disassociate themselves from another son, Salman Baloch.

A week ago, Usman’s father, Yar Muhammad, held a press conference at the Turbat Press Club, where he announced his disassociation from Salman. His other son, Usman, was subsequently found dead.

Families in Balochistan have previously alleged that they were pressured into holding press conferences to publicly disassociate themselves from relatives accused of links to armed groups. Human rights advocates have described such measures as “collective punishment”.

Meanwhile, the bodies of two unidentified men were recovered near Mal Shahwarai in the Dasht-e-Goran area. Their ages were estimated to be around 28 and 27.

Initial reports indicated that both men had been shot dead.

Surab police took the bodies into custody and transferred them to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Surab for legal formalities and identification.

Police have launched an investigation to identify the deceased, determine the motive for the killings and trace those responsible.

In a separate incident, the body of a man identified as Salahuddin, son of Muhammad Ali, was recovered near Bab-e-Kharan on the Kharan–Quetta Road.

A day earlier, the bullet-riddled body of another man had been recovered near the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Road.

Separately, the body of Huzoor Bakhsh Baranzai, who had allegedly been abducted by armed men from Wadh tehsil in Khuzdar district, was also recovered.
