Two people were killed and two others were taken away by armed men in separate incidents in Balochistan’s Kharan district on Friday night, local sources said.
In the Kalan area, armed men raided the house of Hafiz Kabir, where an exchange of fire reportedly took place. Sources said one of Hafiz Kabir’s sons was killed, while Hafiz Kabir and another son were taken away by the attackers to an undisclosed location.
Local sources alleged that Hafiz Kabir and his sons were associated with pro-government armed groups locally referred to as “death squads”.
Separately, unidentified gunmen shot dead Ghami Sasoli in the Gowash area of Kharan.
According to local sources, Ghami Sasoli was associated with Hafiz Mumtaz, whom they described as the head of a pro-government armed group.
The motives behind the two incidents remained unclear. No group had claimed responsibility, and authorities had not issued an official statement at the time of publication.
