A woman has reportedly been killed in a so-called “honour” killing in Naseerabad district of Balochistan, with police confirming that a case has been registered and an investigation is under way.
According to reports, the victim was allegedly murdered by her husband, identified as Mehboob Magsi, who is accused of carrying out the killing on the pretext of “honour”.
Police authorities said a First Information Report (FIR) had been lodged and efforts were ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to apprehend the suspect. It was not immediately clear whether the accused had been arrested.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of local police in Naseerabad, a district that has historically reported a significant number of such cases.
Honour-based violence remains a persistent issue in parts of Balochistan, where such crimes are often linked to deeply rooted tribal and patriarchal norms.
Human rights observers note that victims are predominantly women, and accusations alone are often used as justification for violence, frequently without due legal process.
Authorities said the investigation into the latest killing was ongoing, and further details are expected as the inquiry progresses.
