Reports of enforced disappearances and subsequent releases of several individuals have emerged from different areas of Balochistan, according to local sources.
According to reports, four men from Parom, in Panjgur district, were reportedly subjected to enforced disappearance in recent days. The missing individuals have been identified as Mohsin, son of Muslim; Yahya, son of Muhammad Yasin; and Abdul Ahad, son of Mullah Nazar, who were reportedly taken into custody on the morning of 16 March 2026 from the Jirek crossing point in Parom, by Pakistani forces.
In a separate incident, Karim, son of Abdul Rasheed, a Zamyad driver from the same area, was reportedly detained and subsequently disappeared on 2 April 2026 at around 2:30 pm from Josak, Turbat. Sources said he had previously also been subjected to enforced disappearance.
Meanwhile, reports of the release of several individuals have also been received. Faheem Sumalani, son of Muhammad Usman and a resident of Jailani Road in Quetta, who was reportedly disappeared on 1 March 2026, was released on 21 March from Airport Road in Quetta.
In another case, Hayat Bibi, daughter of Ahmad, originally from Nokjo Mashkay in Awaran but residing in the Gazgi area of Khuzdar, who was taken into custody on 20 February 2026, was later released in Khuzdar.
Nizam, son of Hameed, a resident of Gwadar who had been missing since 8 December 2025, reportedly returned on 20 March 2026.
Similarly, Yasir Ahmed, son of Gul Muhammad (missing since 5 June 2023), and Naveed Ahmed, son of Abdul Rasheed (missing since 29 April 2023), both from Khuzdar, were reportedly released in Quetta on 18 March 2026.
In addition, individuals from various areas of Surab, including Waheed Baloch, son of Muhammad Tobal; Akram Baloch, son of Haji Alam Khan; Sattar Baloch, son of Abdul Khaliq; and Abdul Ghaffar Baloch, son of Abdul Khaliq, who were reportedly disappeared on 28 March 2026, were released on 31 March along the main RCD Road in Surab.
Local sources state that reports of enforced disappearances in Balochistan continue, while families of missing individuals have issued appeals and staged protests calling for their recovery. Human rights activists have expressed concern over the incidents and have called for an end to enforced disappearances and for all missing persons to be produced before the law.
