Reports of enforced disappearances in Balochistan continue, with two additional cases emerging in recent days, while one previously missing individual has returned home, according to local sources and advocacy groups.

According to reports, a 17-year-old student, Shahek Baloch, son of Rahim Bakhsh and a resident of Buleda Mehnaz in Kech district, was reportedly taken into custody in Turbat on 31 March by individuals described by sources as members of a state-backed local militia. His whereabouts remain unknown since the incident.

In a separate case, Noor Khan, 21, son of Nazar Muhammad and a student from Sardasht Kalanch in Pasni tehsil, was reportedly detained on 28 March at a van stop in Pasni by personnel identified by witnesses as belonging to Military Intelligence (MI). Eyewitnesses said he was forcibly placed into a vehicle and taken to an undisclosed location.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee confirmed both cases and expressed concern over what it described as a continuing pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, calling on international organisations to take notice of the situation.

Separately, Mumtaz Baloch, a fifth-semester student in the Balochi department at the University of Balochistan, who had reportedly gone missing several days earlier, has returned home. According to sources, he was taken into custody from Kolwai Bazaar in the Absar area of Turbat on the third night of Eid, after which no information about his whereabouts was available for several days.

His family has expressed relief at his return, while relatives of other missing individuals continue to await news about their loved ones.
