Two armed Baloch groups have separately claimed responsibility for multiple incidents in different parts of Balochistan, including attacks on Pakistani forces, the execution of an alleged informer, and damage to construction equipment.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks on Pakistani forces in Mastung and Kech, as well as the execution of an alleged military informer in Surab. The claims were made in a statement issued to the media by BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch.

According to the statement, on 23 September BLA fighters carried out a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) attack on Pakistani troops in Dasht, Mastung. The forces were reportedly engaged in railway track clearance at the time. The spokesperson said that one soldier was killed on the spot and two others were injured.

A second IED attack was reported in the Goerkop area of Kech, targeting a military vehicle. The BLA claimed that three personnel were killed and the vehicle was destroyed.

The spokesperson further stated that BLA fighters had earlier captured a man identified as Ishaq Mengal, son of Khair Jan, from the Gidar area of Surab on 17 September. He was accused of working as an informer for Pakistani forces and being associated with what the group described as a “death squad” operating under the supervision of Shafiq Mengal. The statement alleged that Ishaq was involved in enforced disappearances, raids on homes, extortion at checkpoints, and providing logistical support to Pakistan military in various operations.

The BLA said that after interrogation and what it termed a trial in a “Baloch national court,” Ishaq was sentenced to death and the sentence was carried out.

Separately, the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for an IED attack on a Pakistani army patrol in Buzdad, Awaran, on the morning of 24 September. The spokesperson for the group Major Gwahram Baloch stated that two soldiers were killed and three injured, with a helicopter later evacuating the dead and wounded. The BLF said its fighters returned safely to their bases.

The BLF also reported a separate action on 20 September in Baghao, Barkhan, where it attacked road construction machinery. Fighters allegedly fired on equipment and then set fire to a crash plant, generator, grader, and other machinery, causing significant damage.

Both groups said their operations were directed against Pakistani forces and collaborators.
