According to officials, an attack on Pakistani forces in the Kalat district of Balochistan resulted in the deaths of two personnel and injuries to three others, including an officer of major rank.

The deceased personnel have been identified as Naik Muhammad Sharif and Naik Baqar, while the injured include Major Haseeb Alam, Naik Muhammad Ziaullah, and Naik Javed Ahmed.

It is reported that a vehicle in a convoy of Pakistani forces was targeted by an explosion carried out by unknown assailants in the Harboi area of Kalat this morning.

Later, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), an armed group fighting for what it calls the illegal occupation of Balochistan by Pakistan.

BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, in a statement issued to the media, claimed that BLA fighters carried out a remote-controlled IED attack on a vehicle in a Pakistani military convoy in the Harboi area of Kalat. “As a result of the explosion, five enemy personnel were killed on the spot, while three others, including a major-rank officer, were severely injured. The enemy military vehicle was completely destroyed”, he added.

The spokesperson further stated that since yesterday, the Pakistani “occupying” forces have been attempting to advance in Harboi and its surrounding areas for aggressive operations. However, BLA fighters once again forced them to retreat through this attack.

It’s noteworthy that yesterday, in the same area, the BLA ambushed Pakistani forces personnel on motorcycles, killing four and injuring at least six.

The group also released a video of yesterday’s attack, showing the slain Pakistani soldiers and the seized weapons.
