The eight-day-long sit-in at Shaheed Fida Chowk, Turbat, concluded following successful negotiations between protest organizers and the district administration, led by Assistant Commissioner Turbat, Muhammad Jan Baloch. The families of Zareef Umar and Naveed Hameed, whose killings had sparked the protest, announced the end of the demonstration after their demands were reportedly accepted.

The Kech Bar Association and Makran Bar Association facilitated the negotiations, with senior lawyers Mehrab Khan Gichki, Majeed Shah, and Jadin Dashti representing the protesters. Assistant Commissioner Turbat assured the families on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner Kech that their demands would be implemented promptly.

Key demands included ending the harassment of Zareef Umar’s family, recovering individuals on a list of missing persons provided to the administration, and taking action against those involved in the killings of Zareef Umar and Naveed Hameed. The administration promised to recover or release some individuals within 24 hours, with further steps to follow.

During a joint press conference, Zareef Umar’s sister and the lawyers urged the administration to honor its commitments, warning that the sit-in would resume at the same location if the promises were not fulfilled.

Simultaneously, the sit-in at CPEC Highway’s Hoshap Zero Point, organized by the families of Zaman Jan and Abul Hassan, also ended after assurances from the district administration. Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Jan Baloch accepted their demands and arranged a meeting between the detained individuals and their families, which the families confirmed.

The families’ demands included an end to persistent harassment, filing cases against those involved in the disappearance of Zaman Jan and Abdul Hassan, and other concerns.
