Three Pakistani soldiers were killed, and four others injured in an attack on a military convoy in Balochistan’s Kalat district on Saturday, according to local officials.
The incident occurred in the Kili Dasht Mahmood area near Kalat, where an explosion targeted the convoy, followed by intense gunfire. Armed assailants reportedly launched an extended assault, lasting for a significant period.
Police confirmed the casualties, stating that the injured and deceased were transported to a nearby hospital, and security forces have since cordoned off the area.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the region has seen frequent assaults on Pakistani forces by Baloch ‘pro-independence’ armed groups in the past.
