Unidentified assailants reportedly launched attacks on a military checkpoint and construction machinery in Kech district, while another attack in Harnai district saw four coal trucks set ablaze and three drivers injured.
The first incident occurred in the Sami Gishkor area of Kech district late at night. Unidentified attackers targeted a military checkpoint, leading to heavy gunfire and explosions that were heard throughout the area. At the same time, the attackers also set fire to construction machinery, rendering it unusable. Local sources reported that the assailants managed to escape after the attack.
In a separate incident in Harnai’s Rara Sham area, unknown gunmen attacked four coal trucks, setting them on fire and injuring three drivers in the ensuing gunfire. Levies sources confirmed the incident, stating that the attack took place in an area between Harnai and Musa Khel.
These attacks come amid the ongoing insurgency in Balochistan, where various Baloch ‘pro-independence’ groups have been active. However, no group has yet claimed responsibility for either of the two attacks.
