Gunmen of a tribal chief reportedly kidnapped a woman from the Khuzdar city of Balochistan on Thursday. The victim’s family and residents of the area blocked the main highway road in protest against the incident.

Protesters blocked the Quetta-Karachi main RCD highway for traffic near Awami Hotel.

The Abductee’s father Muhammad Ramzan Shahuzai, a resident of Khuzdar said that on Thursday morning, several gunmen in two vehicles stormed his house in Khuzdar’s Sunni and forcefully took away his daughter after beating the other households.

The father of the abducted woman while filing an application to the Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar said that the tribal chief’s gunmen Majeed Chanal, Abdul Karim son of Karam Khan Shahuzai, and Muhammad Chanal entered his house with several other armed men and kidnapped his daughter Farzana Ramzan.

According to the applicant, the aforementioned abductors were sent by a tribal leader Mir Ilyas son of Rahim Khan Zehri — while his daughter was abducted by the orders of Muhammad Hamza son of Muhammad Ramzan and Muhammad Ramzan son of Mir Ahmed Boobak.

It should be noted that the aforementioned accused persons including Majeed Chanal are known for working and being crucial to the former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri in Khuzdar.

It is worth noting the said persons have been reportedly involved in numerous such incidents in the past as well.

In reaction to the incident, the family members of the abducted woman staged a sit-in on the Quetta-Karachi national highway and blocked it for traffic for hours, which was later ended by the local authorities through negotiations.

The father of the abducted woman has demanded from the higher authorities including Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar to immediately recover his daughter and take legal action against the abductors.
