A senior official of Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence(ISI) was killed along with his driver in an attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Tuesday.
According to reports, the ISI top officer Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Burki was killed along with his driver in an ambush attack by unidentified gunmen in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan army’s media wing issued a statement saying that intense fire was exchanged between the two sides in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan. It said that Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Burki was killed while leading the encounter on the front. Meanwhile, seven other soldiers were injured and two critically wounded, the ISPR said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the aforementioned attack yet. However, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been active in the said area.
