The University of Gwadar has been issued a recognition certificate by Higher Education Commission (HEC). Addressing a function in this regard, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, the Vice-Chancellor of Gwadar University said the HEC has issued a recognition certificate to the university within a year, which according to Mr. Sabir is a very short span of time.
“Credit goes to faculty members, staff, and students of the university”, the Vice-Chancellor stated. The university met all criteria of the HEC and was issued a recognition certificate, Mr. Sabir said. The HEC issued the 147th certificate to Gwadar university on a national level and the 10th certificate on a provincial level.
He said that at the beginning of the new academic year, under the new semester, BS degree and diploma courses will be conducted in fifteen programs organized by seven teaching departments. In addition to three new teaching departments, English, Chemistry, Economics, and Data Sciences, Diploma courses will be conducted at the university.
Research related to the affairs and CPEC will be started under the auspices of the relevant research centers. He praised the administration and teaching staff for the successful conduct of the Zero Semester and said that from the new academic year, the university will organize teaching and learning in two new buildings.
The University of Gwadar (formerly known as UoT’s Gwadar Campus) started its academic activities in January 2017 in a portion of the building of Government Boys Degree College Gwadar. The University offers four BS programs in the fields of Management Sciences (BBA), Computer Science (BSIT), Education (B.Ed. Hons) and Commerce (BS Commerce). It is the first University in Gwadar city of Balochistan.
