A man has reportedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces from Lyari, a Baloch-majority area in Karachi, according to local sources and rights advocates.
The victim has been identified as Akhtar s/o Akbar, who was allegedly detained in the early hours of April 11. Eyewitnesses and family members claim that at around 4 AM, security personnel raided his residence in Lyari, taking him into custody without presenting a warrant or providing any information regarding the reason for the arrest.
Since the incident, Akhtar’s whereabouts remain unknown, and no formal charges or legal proceedings have been disclosed by the authorities.
