The Baloch Students Action Committee, Baloch Students Organization, Baloch Students Federation and several other students organizations said in a joint statement that the authorities are using violence to silence the peaceful protestors at the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University in Quetta. The student leaders said that that this kind of senseless behaviours is not acceptable, the authorities must refrain from it.

In a joint statement, the student groups said that the students in SBK are protesting against the unavailability of basic facilities, like electricity and gas supply. The students cannot properly attend classes or carry out their studies in the biting winter. The student leaders said that the students confronted the varsity administration about their problems and instead of resolving them, the authorities are pressuring the students into silence.

Viral videos of the violent episode in the university show female police officers tackling the protesting students. The students fight back and raise slogans against the police forces and the university administration.

The student organizations said that the students in the SBK university are protesting for their due rights. The authorities must recognize that and solve their problems. The student leaders warned that if such behaviour is repeated or the protesting students are arrested, we will strongly react to these actions and the university administration will be responsible.
