At least four people were killed and six others wounded in an explosion in Karachi’s North Nazimabad earlier on Friday evening, according to the city officials. The incident reportedly occurred near a petrol pump. The blast took place near the electric room of the fuel station and was also felt in its vicinity. The nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained, but the police officials said that they expect it to be an accident rather than a deliberate act of sabotage.
According to reports, the blast killed four individuals – all men – and critically wounded six others, including two women. The SHO of the Nazimabad police said that the explosion was triggered by a cylinder blast in the Byco Petrol pump in the North Nazimabad Block A. He said that the police are still investigating the incident. The deceased and the injured were moved to the hospital where they will be treated.
