A blast in Balochistan’s bordering city with Afghanistan killed 3 people and injured more than a dozen.

According to police, the bomb exploded outside the Levies headquarter on Taj road in Chaman city. Police vehicle was the target of the attack.

The injured were rushed to district hospital for medical treatment. Hospital staff confirmed that a child succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital. Levies and policemen were also among the injured, sources said.

“Terrorists had planted an improvised explosive device in a motorcycle parked outside the levies headquarters,” police told the media

The explosion smashed glasses of nearby homes and offices in the area. The blast heard far and wide in Chaman city causing panic among the citizens.

Chief Minister Balochistan, has strongly condemned the act. In a statement issued to the press after the blast, CM Jam Kamal directed police to submit a report in this regard. “Perpetrators of the attack would be brought to justice”, he added.
