At least two attacks have been carried out against Pakistani security forces in Peer Ismaeel, Bolan by unknown assailants.

According to local sources, in the first attack a military water tanker was targeted with an IED this morning. The attack resulted in casualities.

As Pakistani security forces rushed to the rescue, a second attack unfolded and another military vehicle was targeted, resulting in further casualities.

Later Pakistani military helicopters landed in the area and evacuated the targeted troops and casualties. According to latest information, a search operation is underway in the area.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of filing this report, however, Baloch Liberation Army is active in the region. BLA, which claims it is fighting for the independence of Balochistan, has carried out several lethal attacks against Pakistani security forces in Bolan and adjoining areas.

Only three days ago two Pakistani soldiers were targeted with an IED in the same area. BLA later claimed that its fighters were behind the attack.
