According to security and investigative officials, Russian-made hand grenades were used in recent attacks on security forces.

It is to mention that a pro-independence armed group, Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) claimed responsibility for the attacks in Karachi, Larkana, Ghotki and other areas last month.

The latest attack was also claimed by the same group. It released a statement on Wednesday, saying; the SRA claims the responsibility of killing the former Rangers Officer, Ashiq, by grenade attack in Sachal area of Karachi.

The SRA spokesman, Sodho Sindhi said that, deceased was the main informer & facilitator of Rangers operations in Sachal area.

“This attack was meant to record the serious reaction of Sindhi nation against Punjab’s imposed illegal hold over Sindh and currently launched state’s offensive operation against Sindhi nationalists,” spokesman added.

The statement further said that SRA will eliminate those all local facilitators and informers of Pakistani forces, who are involved in state operation against the freedom movement of Sindh and the genocide of Sindhi people.

Sodho Sindhi stated that, currently state has launched a crackdown on Sindhi activists and they have enhanced the rate of enforced disappearances of Sindhi nationalists and started abusing their women and children through forcibly entering their homes.

“China is the co-partner of Punjab establishment; which tries to secure their economic interests through CPEC project. We strongly condemn their vested acts and we will not allow them to fulfil their vested interests in Sindh,” he added.

“SRA vows to continue its struggle till total freedom and sovereignty of Sindhudesh”, the statement read.
