According to details received by TBP, employees of the Saindak Project are suffering from a monthly allowance deduction.

The salaries of the project employees were increased due to their protests, but deductions are being made for monthly performances.

Employees said, salaries have been increased by $ 25 after protests, but $ 10 is deducted in the name of so called monthly performances.

Employees further said that when they protest for rights, the administration’s regional officials approve the demands periodically, but later deprive them from their rights in different ways.

It has been reported that Chinese company and some local officers are highly unfair with employees of the Saindak project. Employees have been repeatedly protesting against it.

Saindak Copper Gold Project is located near Saindak town in Chagai district of Balochistan. The Saindak mine was estimated to have ore reserves of 412 million tonnes containing on average 0.5 gram of gold per ton and 1.5 grams of silver per ton. According to official estimates, the project has the capacity to produce 15,800 ton of blister copper annually, containing 1.5 ton of gold and 2.8 ton of silver.
