‘Balochistan is not a province but our country’ said Lashkari Raisani while speaking at the protest for missing persons.
According to details received by The Balochistan Post, former senator and leader of Balochistan National Party (BNP) visited the protest camp for Missing Persons.
While talking to the families of the missing persons Lashkari Raisani said that Balochistan is not a province but our motherland and we are not obliged to give explanations.
Raisani expressed his concerns over enforced disappearances and demanded to bring the missing persons to the court of law if they have committed any crimes.
“I ask those who claim to be the representatives of Baloch people that where is your pride when your mothers and sisters are protesting on the roads?”, Raisani said.
He also criticized the Pakistani media for turning a blind eye on missing persons issue.
Enforced disappearances that started in the early 2000s have never slowed down in Balochistan, in fact, dramatic surge has been observed in the number of people going missing with each coming year.
According to VBMP, more than 40,000 Baloch men, women, and children are under Pakistani custody.
