Five more persons have been detained and taken to undisclosed locations as Pakistani forces continue to raid localities in Kech.

According to local TBP correspondent, house to house search operation was conducted in Shooleg and Haur areas of district Kech. Five persons were arrested during these raids, who were subsequently taken to undisclosed locations.

The people arrested in the fresh raids in Dasht Sholeeg were identified as Akhtar s/o Haji Murad Mohammad, Zahid s/o Allah Baksh, Yaseen s/o Haji Nabi Baksh and Allah Baksh s/o Nabi Baksh.

The man detained from Haor Dasht was identified as Waheed s/o Abdul Raheem, who was arrested from his house.

The fresh raids only come a day after 12 people were taken from Kashap area of Dasht.

Balochistan is plagued by the enforced disappearances of Baloch youth and activists. However, recently instances of ‘women and children abduction’ have also been reported.

International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International accuse Pakistani security forces as the ‘perpetrators of illegal abductions’ in Balochistan.
