Pakistan’s military said on Wednesday it had killed nine armed fighters in two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kachhi and Wadh areas on October 26.
Seven fighters were killed in an exchange of fire in Kachhi district, where a suspected hideout was also destroyed, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement.
Two others were killed in a separate exchange of fire in Wadh after troops intercepted their movement, it said.
The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from both locations and searches were continuing. It did not identify those killed.
The account and casualty figures could not be independently verified.
