Five bodies bearing bullet wounds and signs of torture were found near Gwargo Cross in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, with three of the deceased subsequently identified, according to local and hospital sources.
Police recovered the bodies from a roadside and transferred them to the Teaching Hospital for identification and the completion of legal formalities.
Hospital sources identified three of the deceased as Shafiq, son of Dad Mohammad, from Rai Nigwar; Habibullah, son of Saleem, from Kata Gari; and Safiullah, son of Abdul Wahab, from Khudabadan.
The remaining two bodies had not been identified at the time of publication.
The discovery came a day after three bodies bearing signs of torture were found in the Jimri area of Gwadar district and subsequently identified by their families.
One of those found dead was Ehsan Hassan, son of prominent local political figure Waja Mohammad Hassan. His family said Pakistani forces detained him at his home on Jan. 21, after which his whereabouts remained unknown.
