Five people have allegedly been forcibly disappeared from different areas of Balochistan, while a woman previously subjected to alleged enforced disappearance in Mastung has been recovered and reached Quetta.
According to sources, Hafiz Shah Mir, son of Nawab and a resident of Panjgur, was allegedly detained and forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Isa on the night of 16 September.
In Quetta, 13-year-old student Amanullah Bangulzai, son of Inayatullah Bangulzai, was allegedly detained by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel from his home in Killi Gio at around 2:00 a.m. on 20 February 2026 and subsequently forcibly disappeared.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old student Fahad Anwar, son of Anwar, was reportedly detained and forcibly disappeared by Military Intelligence (MI) and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel from his home in Malai Bazaar, Turbat, at around 1:00 a.m. on 19 August 2026.
Similarly, 24-year-old Changez, son of Mohammad Ibrahim and a resident of Buleda, Kech, was allegedly detained and forcibly disappeared by FC personnel from the Absar area of Turbat at around 11:00 p.m. on 4 September 2026.
In Mastung, Ehsan Baloch, son of Mohammad Ismail, was also reportedly detained and forcibly disappeared by MI and FC personnel from the Lak Pass checkpost at around 9:00 a.m. on 9 September 2026.
Meanwhile, Seema Baloch, daughter of Master Abdul Sattar and a resident of Mastung, who was allegedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces from the Kardegap area of Mastung on 11 September 2026, was recovered on 17 September and reached Quetta.
Enforced disappearances remain a longstanding issue in Balochistan. Although many cases are not reported promptly due to alleged state pressure, fear and other obstacles, including limited communication networks.
According to the annual report published in 2026 by the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB), enforced disappearances carried out by Pakistani forces, intelligence agencies and their affiliated local militias rose to 1,482 cases in 2025, representing a 79 per cent increase compared to 2024.
