Cases of enforced disappearance continue to be reported in Balochistan, with one person allegedly forcibly disappeared from Chagai and another recovered in Quetta after nearly a month.

According to reports, Nasir Nishad, son of Musa Khan and a resident of Killi Taj Mohammad Khan, Chagai, was allegedly detained and forcibly disappeared by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel from the Chagai Football Ground at around 5:00 p.m. on 8 September 2026.

Meanwhile, Safar Khan, son of Mohammad Hassan and a resident of Kirani Road, Quetta, who was reportedly forcibly disappeared on 16 August 2026, was recovered in Quetta on 14 September 2026 and returned home.

Enforced disappearances remain a longstanding issue in Balochistan. Families, rights groups and political organisations have for years alleged that individuals are detained by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies and subsequently held incommunicado, while authorities have repeatedly denied involvement in many cases. Human rights organisations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have also documented reports of enforced disappearances in the region.

Recent reports by rights organisations indicate that cases continue to be reported across Balochistan. Documentation published by Paank recorded hundreds of alleged enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings during the first half of 2026, while other human rights groups have also reported ongoing cases from various districts of the region.
