Five residents of Punjab who had reportedly been abducted in Balochistan’s Killa(Qila) Abdullah district have been released following the intervention of tribal elders, local sources said.
According to local sources, the five men were abducted three days ago from the Paniki area of Gulistan in Killa Abdullah district by unidentified armed individuals.
Sources stated that tribal elders subsequently sent a jirga to meet the armed group and appealed for the release of the abducted men. Following the negotiations, the armed group handed all five individuals over to the jirga.
The released men were later safely escorted out of the area by tribal elders.
Local sources identified those abducted as Inam Raza, Baqir Hussain, Mohammad Adnan, Mohammad Shehzad and Mohammad Azan, adding that all five were from Punjab’s Muzaffargarh district.
No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction, and no official statement regarding the incident was immediately available.
The circumstances surrounding the abduction and subsequent release remain unclear. Further details regarding the motives behind the incident have not yet been disclosed.
