A woman injured in the Aug. 12 bombardment of Goandhan in Surab’s Gidar area died of her wounds, local sources said on Saturday.

The woman was identified as Bibi Sara, wife of Baseer Ahmed. Several others injured in the attack remain under treatment, with some reportedly in critical condition.

Residents said Pakistani fighter jets struck several homes in Goandhan, killing or injuring more than 20 civilians, including women and children.

Pakistani military and government officials confirmed that aircraft had carried out strikes but said the targets were alleged hideouts linked to Baloch armed groups. They have not acknowledged the civilian casualty figures reported by residents.

Following the bombardment, affected families staged a sit-in on the Quetta–Karachi highway, demanding justice and the transfer of the wounded to Quetta or Karachi for better treatment.

Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Dr Sabiha Baloch said the administration had assured the families that the injured would receive better treatment but failed to take effective measures.

“The administration gave assurances, but no effective steps were taken,” she said, calling for the assistant commissioner and other officials who allegedly failed to fulfil their responsibilities to be held accountable.
