Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) chief Dr Allah Nazar Baloch has said the resistance of Kashmiris against what he described as Pakistani and Punjabi domination shows that “oppressed nations cannot be subjugated by force.”
In a statement, the BLF leader said Islamabad could no longer impose decisions on Kashmiris and other oppressed nations through repression, adding that the struggle of Kashmiris was an expression of their demand for basic rights and freedom.
Dr Baloch said what Pakistan calls “Azad Kashmir” was free only in name, while in reality, he claimed, Punjab’s authority and domination prevailed there.
He said Punjab’s control had been imposed on oppressed nations in the name of federation, adding that decisions concerning Kashmir were not being made by Kashmiris themselves but by secretary-level officials sitting in Islamabad.
The BLF leader described the repression and killing of Kashmiris as an expression of fear by what he called an “unnatural state,” saying forced domination over oppressed nations could not be maintained for long.
He said resistance to Punjab’s domination was the right of oppressed nations, adding: “We support their struggle for the right to sovereignty and freedom.”
Dr Baloch said the longer oppressed nations delayed rising against what he called Pakistani occupation, the greater the losses they would have to suffer.
He added that the struggle for freedom was the duty of oppressed nations, saying: “We morally and politically support the freedom struggle of Kashmiris, Pashtuns and Sindhis.”
In his concluding remarks, the BLF leader said oppressed nations should consider the Baloch their companions in the struggle for freedom.
He said the Baloch nation also expected other oppressed nations not to hesitate in supporting Balochistan’s freedom struggle.
