The family of a woman in Karachi has alleged that she was forcibly disappeared during a late-night raid conducted by Pakistani forces’ personnel in the city’s Baldia Town area.
According to the family, a group of individuals said to include personnel from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Military Intelligence (MI) and police officers entered their home near Naval Colony in Baldia Town shortly after midnight on 25 May 2026.
Relatives stated that the raid took place at approximately 12:40am at a residence located in Gashin-e-Mazdoor Third Street. They alleged that the officers damaged property during the operation and confiscated two mobile phones, a wristwatch and household diaries.
The missing woman was identified by her family as Habiba Pirjan.
Her son, Yasir Baloch, claimed that officials entered the house without any female officers present and forcibly took his mother away. He further alleged that he was also detained at gunpoint, blindfolded and transported to an undisclosed location where he was questioned before being released several hours later near Sher Shah at around 4:30am.
According to Yasir Baloch, the family has received no information regarding his mother’s whereabouts since the incident. He also claimed that this was the second time Habiba Pirjan had been subjected to enforced disappearance, stating that she had previously been detained on 22 May 2022 and released three days later.
The family has called for her immediate recovery and demanded that authorities either present her before a court of law or release her without delay.
