Four people, including a teenage student, a fisherman, a Levies force personnel and an Education Department employee, have allegedly been forcibly disappeared across Balochistan, while one previously missing person has returned home.

The reported disappearances took place in Balochistan’s Washuk, Gwadar and Dera Bugti districts, where families and local sources said Pakistani forces and counter-terrorism personnel detained the men and moved them to undisclosed locations.

According to reports, 17-year-old Shahab Baloch, son of Haji Ataullah, was taken into custody from his home in the Naag area of Washuk district at around 2pm on 13 May. Shahab is a matriculation student.

His family said personnel of Military Intelligence (MI) and the Pakistani army raided the house and took him away, adding that no information has been provided about his whereabouts since.

A second case was reported from the Jiwni Panwan area of Gwadar, where 18-year-old fisherman Yahya Baloch, son of Ameer Bakhsh, was allegedly detained from his home at around 1:30am on 11 May. His whereabouts remain unknown.

In Dera Bugti district, two men were allegedly forcibly disappeared by the Counter Terrorism Department in Sui tehsil.

One of them has been identified as Siraj, son of Banna Bugti. He is a Levies force personnel.

The other has been identified as Gul Mohammad, son of Zar Khan Bugti, who works as a watchman in the Education Department.

The two men allegedly forcibly disappeared from Dera Bugti.

Meanwhile, Dr Zaheer, son of Yaqoob and a resident of Hoshab in Kech district, has been released after being allegedly forcibly disappeared on 11 May. His family confirmed that he was released from the Joint Road area of Quetta on 12 May.
