The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of 27 operations carried out across multiple districts of Balochistan between April 15 and April 25, according to a statement issued by its spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch.
In the statement, the group said its fighters conducted improvised explosive device (IED) attacks, ambushes, raids, and drone strikes targeting Pakistani security forces. It further claimed that 42 Pakistani military personnel were killed, several others injured, and one soldier was taken into custody during the reported period. The BLA also said it seized weapons and briefly took control of several posts of Pakistani forces and facilities in different areas.
The group additionally reported the deaths of three of its own fighters during clashes, whom it identified as Shah Karam Mullahzai alias Saachan, Gwahram Baloch alias Kambar, and Asim Shahwani alias Rodain.
Timeline of Incidents
April 15 – Khuzdar (Zehri area)
The BLA said its fighters targeted advancing Pakistani forces in Sohnda area using a remote-controlled IED, followed by an ambush. It claimed several Pakistani forces’ personnel were killed. The statement also alleged that later the same forces carried out operations in nearby civilian areas, resulting in the deaths of 11 people.
April 16 – Kharan and Quetta
According to the group, Pakistani forces were targeted in the Almark area of Kharan through IED and ambush attacks, forcing a retreat and causing casualties. In Quetta, it said an attack was carried out on an “Eagle Squad” police unit on Qambrani Road, injuring two personnel.
April 17 – Kohlu and Washuk (Besima area)
The group claimed responsibility for killing a local alleged pro-government armed figure, locally known as “death squads” in Kohlu district of Balochistan. It also said attacks were carried out on armed groups and security forces in Besima, resulting in casualties.
April 18 – Harnai and Jhal Magsi
The BLA said clashes occurred in Harnai’s Shahrag area, where one soldier was captured alive. It also claimed control of a Levies post in Jhal Magsi and seizure of weapons.
April 19 – Zamboran, Mastung, Quetta outskirts
The statement reported multiple attacks on Pakistani forces’ convoys and checkpoints, claiming deaths and injuries among personnel. It also confirmed the death of one of its fighters during clashes.
April 22 – Noshki and Dalbandin
The group said it targeted a Counter Terrorism Department convoy in Noshki and took control of two Levies posts in Dalbandin, seizing weapons.
April 24 – Quetta and Surab
It claimed control of a site linked to a petroleum and gas company near Quetta, stating machinery and vehicles were destroyed. In Surab, it said an ambush followed an IED attack on Pakistani forces, causing casualties.
April 25 – Kalat and Dalbandin
The BLA said that Pakistani forces were targeted while attempting to defuse an explosive device in Kalat, and that police and rest houses were briefly taken over in Dalbandin, with equipment and vehicles set on fire.
The group also claimed a drone strike under its “QAHR” unit on a military camp in Mastung on April 22, stating that it caused casualties and damage.
The BLA paid tribute to its slain fighters, describing them as having died in pursuit of what it calls the “liberation of Balochistan,” and reaffirmed its commitment to continue armed resistance until its stated political objectives are achieved.
Pakistani authorities have not yet issued a detailed response regarding the specific incidents listed in the BLA’s account.
