The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), an armed “pro-independence” group, has released detailed information about eight of its members who it claims were killed during the second phase of its campaign, “Operation Herof,” carried out last month in Balochistan.
The information was published through the group’s media channel, Hakkal. According to the BLA, the individuals were involved in suicide missions and armed clashes with Pakistani armed forces.
Fighters Reported Killed in Quetta Operations
The BLA stated that several of the fighters were killed during operations on the Quetta front, particularly in the Saryab area, including the locality of Wali Jat, where intense clashes were reported.
Among them was Muzammil Baloch (alias Rauf), son of Mahmood Baloch and a resident of Khudabadan in Panjgur. According to the group, he joined the BLA in 2025 after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Balochistan. He was later assigned to the organization’s intelligence wing, “ZIRAB,” where he reportedly worked with discipline, responsibility, and adherence to secrecy. The group said he was killed during prolonged fighting in Saryab.
Another individual, Ghulam Jailani (alias Miraan), son of Ghulam Rabbani from Dhadar in Kachhi district, reportedly joined the group in 2024. He was described as a member of the Special Tactical Operations Squad (STOS) and was said to have been killed during clashes in the same area.
The BLA also identified Zahoor Baloch (alias Pulli), son of Shah Mohammad and a resident of Isplinji in Mastung district, as a medical student and member of the STOS unit who was killed while fighting alongside other members in Quetta.
Shahid Bangulzai (alias Commando), son of Abdul Wahid Bangulzai and a resident of Garrani in Mastung, was reported to have joined the group on December 17, 2024. He was also part of the STOS unit and was killed during clashes in Saryab, according to the group.
Additionally, Younus Zehri (alias Sarang), son of Abdul Qayyum Zehri and a resident of Kahen in Zehri, reportedly joined the BLA on June 30, 2025. The group stated that he initially operated in Zehri and Kalat before taking part in fighting in Noshki, where he was killed during heavy clashes.
Additional Fighters Reported Killed in Noshki
In a separate statement, the BLA released details of three additional fighters who it said were killed during operations in Noshki.
Zafar Nichari (alias Muslim), son of Ali Nawaz and a resident of Gazg in Kalat, reportedly joined the organization on April 14, 2025. According to the BLA, he was part of a frontline unit during clashes in Noshki and was killed in intense fighting.
Shoaib Shah (alias Meerak), son of Mohammad Umar Shah and a resident of Peer Shaar in Zehri, was said to have joined the group on August 16, 2025. He later became part of the STOS unit and participated in operations in mountainous areas, including Nagahu and Kalat. The group stated that he was killed during what it described as a decisive battle in Noshki.
The eighth individual, Asad Baloch (alias Sherjan), son of Haji Sher Mohammad and a resident of Sorgaz in Mastung, reportedly joined the group in April 2025. According to the BLA, he initially served in Kalat before being included in the STOS unit and was later killed during fighting in Noshki.
The BLA claims that all eight individuals were killed in armed confrontations with Pakistani forces during Operation Herof Phase II in areas including Quetta and Noshki.
Pakistani authorities have not issued an official response to these specific claims.
