Unidentified gunmen attacked a house in the Sordo area of Panjgur late on Monday night, killing four people and injuring one, according to local sources.
The deceased were identified as Ghulam Sarwar, son of Muhammad Noor; his sons Islam and Nizam, both residents of Gechk, Sordo; Habibullah, son of Shah Muhammad from Gresha, Khuzdar; and Ali Ahmed, a resident of Quetta.
Local sources said those killed were affiliated with a state-backed armed group, locally referred to as a “death squad.” Such groups have been accused of involvement in enforced disappearances, targeted killings of political and social activists, and criminal activities including drug trafficking and kidnapping for ransom.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, similar incidents in the past have often been claimed by Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups.
