A strong earthquake struck Turbat and the surrounding areas of Balochistan’s Kech district on Thursday, sparking panic among residents as tremors shook buildings and echoed with a loud rumble.
According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 3.8 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre located 40 kilometres northwest of Turbat at a depth of 34 kilometres.
Local residents reported hearing a loud sound accompanying the tremors, prompting many to flee their homes in fear. The quake caused a temporary atmosphere of alarm across several neighborhoods.
No casualties or property damage have been reported so far.
