Kharan Deputy Commissioner Muneer Soomro and his two personal guards were abducted by armed men on the Kharan–Nushki Road in Balochistan, according to preliminary information cited by police sources.
The sources said Soomro was travelling with his guards when contact was lost with all three, adding that their mobile phones have since remained switched off.
Police have not formally confirmed the reported abduction, while officials said efforts to contact Soomro and establish his whereabouts were continuing.
Meanwhile, police in Nushki, Kharan and Chagai have been mobilised to search for the deputy commissioner and his guards.
According to police sources, teams are conducting searches at several locations and gathering information about the circumstances in which they went missing.
Authorities have yet to disclose the precise location of the reported incident or provide details about the armed men allegedly involved.
