The bodies of three men reportedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces have been found or handed to their families in Balochistan, while four other bodies allegedly dumped during a military operation in Washuk remain unidentified.

According to reports from Basima, Pakistani forces handed the body of Shahzaib Baloch, son of Hatim, to his family after allegedly killing him in custody. Shahzaib was reportedly shot and injured while travelling on a motorcycle on Aug. 6 and subsequently detained, after which his whereabouts remained unknown.

In a separate operation in the Patk area of Washuk, Pakistani forces allegedly confined residents to their homes and subjected them to severe torture. The home of a resident identified as Chakar was demolished with a bulldozer, while five bodies were allegedly dumped near the demolished houses.

One of the deceased was identified as Shukarullah, son of Abdul Nabi and a resident of Kapar, who had reportedly been detained and disappeared 10 days earlier. The remaining four bodies have not yet been identified.

Meanwhile, the body of Sabzal Baloch, son of Karim Dad and a resident of Mashkay, was found in Gazi village in the Pirandar area. Sources said he had been shot dead the previous night, several months after Pakistani forces allegedly detained him at his home and forcibly disappeared him.

The latest cases bring the reported number of bodies found or handed to relatives across Balochistan to 15 in one week, following the discovery of eight bodies in Panjgur and Gwadar over the past three days.

According to hospital sources, five bodies bearing bullet wounds and signs of torture were found near Gwargo Cross in Panjgur on Friday. Three were identified as Shafiq, son of Dad Mohammad, from Rai Nigwar; Habibullah, son of Saleem, from Kata Gari; and Safiullah, son of Abdul Wahab, from Khudabadan, while the remaining two have yet to be identified.

Three bodies bearing signs of torture were also found on Thursday in the Jimri area of Gwadar district and subsequently identified by their families. They included Ehsan Hassan, son of prominent local political figure Waja Mohammad Hassan, whose family said he had remained missing since Pakistani forces detained him at his home on Jan. 21.

Pakistani authorities have not publicly commented on the reported deaths or the allegations that several of those found dead had previously been taken into custody.
